Greetings, The countdown is at hand. I am scheduled to go in for my stem cell transplant on Oct 9th. The minimum hospital stay would be two weeks and could be longer. My bone marrow will be killed with a heavy chemo and the next day I will have an infusion of the cells that they collected from me over 5 years ago. These take about a week to begin to function and start to produce the various blood cells. It really takes weeks or even months to get up to par in producing all the blood cells a person needs, and longer to develop good immunity again. It's so good that we walk with the Lord and He is "My refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." This seems to be the next appointment the Lord has lined up for me. Will see what doors he opens. May He receive glory in whatever the process and outcome. Thanks so much for all who pray and seek to encourage us. With some bugs flying around we're praying I don't get caught by one, I'm certainly not trying to catch one. In our reading this morning at breakfast Romans 10:11 hit me with a new impact more than I have felt from that verse before, "Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed." Could I add "in anything?" Wow! No disappointments! Great. What a great God! Did I need that? Yes! Thankyou Lord! When you pray for people going through things don't forget the spouses. They seem to carry a heavier load. Thankfully, the Lord upholds them as well. John Corey 1920 SE Beaver Creek Ln Troutdale, Or 97060 jwcorey @ juno . com 503 465 2105 |
